One Love with Rueben
What a great afternoon at White Bay. We had a "fix it yourself" rum drink at Gertrudes, and highly recommend the place as you walk from Soggy Dollar to One Love. Speaking of One Love....the man himself, Reuben Chinnery was playing when we got there. He hasn't been there the last couple of trips, so it was a treat to see him. Here is a link to a video that we took.
A White Bay Kind of Day
First stop - White Bay for a painkiller, or twelve. Soggy Dollar was more crowded than I had ever seen it.
Away from the Dock!
Getting away from the dock was a little challenging, due to several "boat issues." The Voyage guys did their thing....on their normal island time, and we got underway a little after noon. White Bay bound!
The Ferry/Taxi Ride was "Uneventful", Just Like We Like Them
Compared to the 2010 "boat fire" event, Friday's ferry/taxi ride was a breeze. We did reminisce a little about getting to wear life preservers that year, and made sure that we knew where they were on the boat, and how many....
We arrived at Soper's Hole around 5:30 or so, put our gear on the boat, and headed to Pusser's for a cold adult beverage. With our liquor locked up in the Voyage office, we were very dependent on the bartenders at Pusser's for the evening. A big ole (that's a southern term) rack of ribs later, we were happy campers/sailors.
We Arrived Safely
The scenic taxi ride to Red Hook was uneventful, and being Boy Scouts, we were well prepared - we bought a six pack or so for the ride.....
